QUITE

Seriously, quiet.

How many nights now have I found my thoughts wandering off to past days and future days as I contemplate the work that shifts across my computer monitor. Farsight I lose focus on the now and the here, I see my friends gone ahead and those that lay behind, I spin and spin, I stop, my body is calm my mind is surrounding me, protective and warm it shields me from the fierce night. Out of the dark a spark calls me to her. Those pearly whites glistening with the light of a distant star, their gravity draws me closer. One taste and she is gone. My mind reels and spins searching, seeking, longing, and falters. My guard is gone and I am open, I am free.
