I studied Architecture and STS in Philadephia at Drexel University, completing their 2 + 4 Bachelor of Architecture program. In 2012, I earned my M.S. Urban Planning from Columbia University.

Observing transit users in New York and recalling observations from prior travel it appears that individuals find different ways to spend their time when in transit. As the number of mobile users on transit continues to increase, how might an understanding of their movement and use of time be used to:

increase efficiency of the transit system

stimulate novel programming both on the trains/buses and off

assist businesses in understanding the movement of people through a corridor

Additionally, observing the number of higher education institutions in Mexico City and their location along strategic corridors, how might we leverage mobility data in order to help the city and its universities to:

optimally locate housing and retail for their students and employees

better understand the impact of these institutions on peak traffic

etc.

—
PTH
